Data & AI - Rose.ai wants to be a "Data Team in a Box"

Introducing Rose AI — a new way to interface with data.

TLDR:

  • A new generative AI startup, rose.ai, wants to help you to find data, visualize it and share insights, all using simple English.

From their Twitter:

Data has never been more accessible, but the work of parsing, manipulating and visualizing that data has never been more tedious. It’s the kind of work we wish our tools would do for us — so we built a product that does. Think “Chart GPT”.

Normally, analysts have to spend weeks learning programming languages, new interfaces, or Excel macros just to visualize a simple data set, not to mention the time it takes to track down the right data source online. Rose was built to eliminate the cost and time wasted on making data manageable. With Rose, what would normally be a tedious process of finding, visualizing, and transforming data is now as simple as a Google search.

I didn't see a tutorial so I'll have to spend some time (not today) learning how the system works. The main question is: how simple is the process of teaching the AI to convert plain English to SQL? That is always the hard part. Showing charts automatically is a nice feature, I must admit, but not the core value.
